We believe that nutritious, well-balanced meals are essential to helping our learners thrive both in and out of the classroom. In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for preparing and serving fresh, healthy meals each day. If you take pride in cooking with purpose and enjoy contributing to a supportive, learner focused environment, this could be the ideal opportunity for you.

A day in the life of a College Caterer will involve:

    • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across all kitchen equipment, and dining areas, consistently adhering to health and safety policies and regulations.
    • Provide a supportive and welcoming environment during break and lunch times by building positive relationships with learners and working closely with Team Members.
    • Manage supplies and kitchen operations, including ordering ingredients, monitoring fridge/freezer temperatures, and ensuring efficient use of resources.
    • Support the development of young people, especially those on work experience in the kitchen, while adhering to safeguarding responsibilities and participating in ongoing training.

To be a successful College Caterer, you’ll need to:

    • Previous experience of working in a kitchen or catering setting, with a Food Hygiene qualification, and Level 2 literacy and numeracy preferred.
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a positive, can-do attitude and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
    • A strong work ethic, professionalism, and resilience, with a commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive environment.

In return for your time, you’ll get:

    • Holidays – Your annual leave will be pro rata, including public holidays. Plus, after a year, you’ll get an extra day off to celebrate your birthday!
