As part of several very exciting developments, we are expanding our provisions and therefore delighted to announce the planned opening of a further independent co-educational school. Havencross School will provide learning and supportive environment activities for 45 primary and secondary aged children and young people from across Key Stages 2-4. Phoenix Learning and Care support Pupils with Autism, Social, Emotional, Behavioural, Mental Health difficulties and associated complex needs.
The Havencross School building will enable clear transition between each Key Stages and meaningful pathways towards improved independence and skills. Through your appointment you will have the opportunity to help finalise the development of the school and help shape the way the school is created to meet the needs of Pupils.
This role is perfectly suited to existing Headteachers who is seeking the opportunity to be involved in the creation of an exceptional school environment, and to lead a bespoke provision that is based on best practice developments. The school will offer a truly person-centred approach to inclusive education and focus upon delivering a broad and balanced curriculum that meets all areas of Pupil EHCPs. We are seeking to appoint an inspirational experienced senior leader who can appoint and motivate a new team and with guidance from a strong wider education operations leadership team, and support services be responsible for leading the school’s registration and admissions process.
The Role:
As the Headteacher you will provide dynamic and professional leadership, and set the vison & ethos of the school by creating a development plan that will secure its continued success, ensuring high quality education for all Pupils. We are seeking a senior education leader who has high expectations for improving Pupil outcomes and achievements and can build, inspire, challenge, motivate and empower all members of the school community to carry the Phoenix vision forward.
Skills and Requirements:
- 3 years’ experience in a senior management role of an educational service or school
- Knowledge and understanding of the Ofsted education framework and inspection process
- Ability to provide vision, dynamic leadership and direction
- Be an experienced and successful classroom practitioner
- Ability to support /drive outstanding teaching and learning Proven ability to support and retain colleagues
- Ability to evaluate school performance and identify priorities for continuous improvement
- Effectively monitor student progress
- Promote a positive culture of vigilance in relation to safeguarding
- To monitor and administer the SEND register and associated resources
- Ensure budgetary requirements are achieved
- Ability to work effectively within the Governance Team and with other colleagues and professionals to achieve the highest standards
- Value the diversity of the community it serves.
