    Salary: £28,080pa based on working 40 hours per week, and £1,896 based on 4 monthly sleep-ins. The total package average is up to £29,976

    As a Senior Support Worker, you’ll be overseeing our dedicated team members while supporting young adults across various settings in town. You’ll work with young adults who have a variety of different needs, including learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders (ASD), and complex needs that may be associated with behaviours that challenge. The work is incredibly rewarding, offering you the chance to make a positive impact in their daily lives and futures.

    Your week could involve anything from supporting a young adult attend school or work, advocating for them to achieve their personal goals, assisting with tenancy matters, or even planning a supported trip—how does London, Brighton, or Disney Land sound? The job is truly varied, and every day brings something new.

    You’ll face challenges, but nothing beats the feeling of supporting someone to maintain their independence daily.  You’ll potentially need to support someone in unexpected ways and offer emotional guidance when needed. You really do need to be open-minded, empathetic, and resilient. 

     

    A day in the life of a Senior Support Worker will involve:

    • Supporting team members and young adults to have the best quality of life possible. Whether it be supporting them to shop and cook independently, offering personal care, assisting them to budget, or simply being an emotional support when they’re having a tough day. 
    • Carrying out risk assessments, audits and formal meetings with Team Members. Ensuring the support provided is person centred, consistent and promotes independence, complying with CQC regulations, legislations and company policy and procedure.
    • Providing team members with day-to-day support, encouragement and professional advice. Assist with the personal and professional development of team members and provide an effective link between individual’s we support, team members and management.
    • Administration. We’ll need you to keep our records up to date so that we can evidence progress; ensuring the individuals receive the appropriate levels of support. Overseeing rota’s and team member communications, including but not limited to; 1:1 conversations, induction support and Return to Work Meetings.

     

    To be a successful Senior Support Worker you’ll need:

    • A minimum of two years’ experience in working with young adults in a supported living/care setting is essential, NVQ3 certificated or in progress/willing to work towards at time of application and experience of supervising staff is required.
    • Patience, compassion, and resilience – The individuals you support may have experienced trauma, which may have an impact on their communication or lead to behaviour that could be seen as challenging.
    • Great communication skills – Both verbal and non-verbal communication is important in this role as you’ll be speaking to a lot of different people at different times and need to be able to adapt and update support records. 
    • A driving licence – The adults enjoy spending time out of their homes. We need you to be able to drive them to where they need to go. We have the cars; you just need the licence. 
    • To be flexible – You’ll need to be able to sleep at the home during your shifts and cover On Call. The people we support 24 hours a day. This does mean you’ll be able to work your full week in 3-4 days! 

     

    If return for your time, you’ll get:
