Are you passionate about supporting pupils with neurodiverse needs and ensuring they receive the tailored support they deserve?

At Acorn School, we believe every child should feel valued, understood, and empowered to succeed. As a SENDCo Administrator, you’ll play a vital role in working alongside our SENDCo and wider school team, helping to maintain SEN records and EHCPs, while providing essential support that makes a real difference in our pupils' daily lives.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a thriving and dynamic school community, where inclusivity and innovation are at the heart of everything we do.

If you are organised, compassionate, and eager to contribute to a school that truly values its team members and pupils, we would love to hear from you!

A day in the life of a SENDCo Administrator will involve:

    • Assisting the SENDCo with key administrative tasks, maintaining and updating SEN records, and helping organise Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) reviews and related meetings.
    • Sharing important information with staff, parents, and external stakeholders, supporting the school’s total communication approach, and ensuring accurate record-keeping through meeting minutes and documentation.
    • Following safeguarding policies, adhering to health and safety regulations, reporting any concerns, and contributing to maintaining a safe and clean school environment.
    •  Assisting with office administration, including data entry and answering calls, supporting off-site visits and pupil supervision, and working flexibly to meet the needs of the school community.

To be a successful SENDCo Administrator you’ll need:
    • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Literacy and Numeracy, along with experience working with children or young people with learning disabilities or behavioural challenges, ideally within a school or educational setting.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, pupils, and external partners while also working independently when needed.
    • A compassionate, patient, and flexible approach, with a genuine passion for supporting pupils with SEND. Ability to stay organised, prioritize tasks, and remain professional in a fast-paced environment.

In return for your time, you’ll get:

    • Holidays – You’ll only work term time (39.2 weeks), and get paid the additional 12.8 weeks whilst you’re off.

    • Cycle2Work -The cycle to work scheme enables you to buy a bicycle at a discounted rate.

    • After 12 months service - You’ll be eligible for our Medicash scheme which covers a wide range of medical, health and wellbeing expenses (Including immediate access to a GP!). You’ll get life assurance paid at 2 x your annual salary, and even more high street discounts.

As part of our commitment to safer recruitment, successful applicants will undergo pre-employment checks, including an enhanced DBS, online and social media checks, and reference validation. Due to the nature of our work, we are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974), so we may ask you to disclose any spent or unspent criminal convictions during recruitment.
