You’ll play a key role in guiding team members through their qualifications, monitoring progress, and ensuring every individual receives the encouragement, structure and challenge they need to succeed.

A day in the life of a Trainer/Assessor will involve:
- Support a caseload of team members from enrolment to completion by delivering high‑quality teaching, coaching and assessment that builds confidence, skills and professional practice.
- Assess team member competence through a variety of methods and guide them in gathering strong, authentic workplace evidence that aligns with qualification and competency requirements.
- Work collaboratively with managers, mentors, teachers and wider teams to create meaningful learning opportunities, track progress and ensure team members feel supported throughout their journey.
- Deliver inclusive, engaging training that embeds safeguarding, therapeutic practice, EDI principles and essential skills such as English, maths and digital capability.
- Maintain accurate team member records, monitor progress against milestones, identify risks early and contribute to quality assurance, reporting and continuous improvement activity.
To be a successful a Trainer/Assessor, you’ll need:
- Hands‑on experience in education or classroom practice, with a strong grasp of safeguarding, inclusion and supporting team members with additional needs.
- Confident understanding of Teaching Assistant and Higher-Level Teaching Assistant qualification standards, along with the ability to guide team members in reflecting on pupil learning, behaviour and communication.
- Proven experience developing others, whether pupils/learners, apprentices or team members, and assessing workplace competence through observation, discussion and portfolio evidence.
- Strong organisational skills, including managing a caseload, keeping accurate written records and using digital learning systems such as e‑portfolios.
